As an ethical business we are serious about reducing and offsetting our carbon footprint and have chosen to partner with reforestation charity On A Mission to help us.
Through our partnership, we have decided to go beyond being carbon neutral and are compensating more than our actual carbon footprint so that we can be Climate Positive. This means that for each kg of carbon our business emits, we invest in forest regeneration projects that remove 3.5 times the amount of carbon.
Who are On A Mission?
On A Mission are a Swiss non-profit organisation who help businesses and individuals invest in local sustainable reforestation projects and compensate their carbon emissions.
They are founded and run by a team of passionate reforestation experts who select the best reforestation projects worldwide (e.g., Nepal, Uganda, Madagascar, Australia) with the most impact on the climate, local communities and biodiversity. They build long-lasting partnerships with their projects and closely monitor their progress.
How does becoming Climate Positive work?
1. We complete an assessment for each of our products and our business operations to establish our carbon footprint per product. Things like where a product is manufactured and how it's transported make a difference.
2. We agree at what level we want to compensate our carbon footprint per product with On A Mission. For us this is 3.5 times our actual footprint so that we can be Climate Positive.
3. On A Mission invests this money into their carefully selected projects and monitors their progress.
4. In the meantime we also are looking at ways to reduce our carbon footprint through changing our transportation methods, materials used and manufacturing locations.
